What's New Pussycat?

It is a fact of life that many Garden Bloggers are extraordinarily fond of cats.

Some of them take this fondness to a slightly worrying level.

We ask you to nominate your favourite cat-heavy blog.

Sites with exclusive cat content and, especially, those that are written as if seen through the eyes of a cat are disqualified on the grounds of Cat Nutterdom.

I'm sure VP needs to be in there somewhere...

Has to be http://blissyo-elgarden.blogspot.com/
Some interesting garden stuff in Holland peppered with slightly more cats than strictly necessary

A shiver runs up my spine at the use of the word Catchildren. http://bloomingwriter.blogspot.com/2007/11/life-with-catchildren.html

I think this one is probably too cat heavy and garden light, but it did amuse me

Fab new blog BTW!

I spotted Deb's nomination yesterday - mea culpa :) However, I'm a complete amateur compared with the subsequently nominated Bliss, Bloomingwriter and Big Sofa. They've been at it for months if not years. However, there's a key kitty garden blog missing from the list - http://gardenjoy4.blogspot.com/

Oh no, not another nomination! :-) I've already got so many awards I have hardly any room left to swing a erm, whatsit.

So, what ever you do, don't vote for Bliss! Thank you!

Well, since VP's is the only blog with cats in that I read - I'd better vote for her!

(Cats are villains to me - digging up plants, scattering mulch, scratching the bark off trees. I think anyone who can write approvingly of cats on a garden blog probably deserves two awards.)

Bloomingwriter's cats have very strong characters! They even do blog postings of their own. This one made me laugh outloud. Good thing i wasnt drinking coffee at the time.

wilb over at

is definitely my favourite, it's not all about the cat but she definitely has to have her say, and she say sit so nicely too!

hmmmm. 11 comments. what does that tell you? Well mostly that you were correct about the cathusiasm.

emmat said...

ps this isn't technically a blog, but it is one of those things where you think "why are you filming this instead of preventing it from happening?"

emmat said...

oh god, sorry, I left off the actual url. I am like one of those women who drops the entire contents of their handbag

What on earth is going on here ? I realise that this is skating on thin ice and has little garden relevance but it is extraordinary. Why are all these cats speaking this ridiculous cutesy language called LOLCat. It is enough to make one want to vomit. There is even a plan to translate the bible into this language.
Anthropomorphising cats and mangling language: a killer combination ! This is the beginning of the end of the world.

LOLcat speak has spread to horticulture - see link below. Sometimes, people can have too much time on their hands...

On the feline front, another vote for Wilb at http://thebigsofa.wordpress.com/

Wilb is cat of the moment (in fact quite a lot of moments) and although I find this worrying, I must nominate the big sofa nonetheless
