The Proud Parent Award

We all love babies.

Cute dimpled buttocks, wispy hair and that wonderful smell of sweetly regurgitated milk and baby powder.
The garden equivalent is the seedling.

We invite nominations for your favourite seedling photograph.

(Some seedlings are only interesting to their parents)

Hello,

I'm egotistically nominating my courgette seedling, with his seedcase hat.

Thanks,

Emma at Fluffius Muppetus can usually be relied on for a seedling or tuber shot when needed.

Veg Plot (Spawn of Allotment 21) has an asparagus sprout photograph that must be thrilling for the proud parent but perhaps a bit dreary to the uninitiated

No shortage of seedlings here.

Mike at Tiny Farm Blog has been awash with seedling photos for weeks. However, the quality of his photography is very good, so that may disqualify him for this award.

Here's the latest offering - many others to be seen this week alone:

Thank you for the nomination! I appreciate it. I always have some seedlings going...they are my obsession.

Thanks for the nomination Patrick!

I second (or third, rather) A Blog Called Fuggles for the "dancing frog" pea seedling. A classic in this genre.

Patrick,
Thanks for the mention. :-)

I am going to nominate my very own seedling photo - what makes this truly dull, is that it is a brown seedling against brown soil.

Dont know how to embed a link

Just doing a bit of lurking, but couldn't resist telling you that your word verification says 'otdog' at the moment. That's made me feel quite hungry - must go and get my breakfast...

I've just found a truly impressive seedling on 'Kiss my Aster!'.
